Yogesh Raj is a PhD (history of technology) from Imperial College London. He specialises in the relationship between large-scale manufacture of everyday commodities and the emergence of the modern state in South Asia. Raj has published widely, from the toponymical studies to epigraphy, and from oral history to social history of Nepal and South Asia. His works have featured in all the major journals in Nepal, including Ancient Nepal, Studies in Nepali History and Society, Contributions to Nepalese Studies, Abhilekh, and Pasuka. His most recent books are History as Mindscapes (Martin Chautari, 2010), The Journals of Captain Kinloch (Jagadamba: 2012) and Sandhya Samrachana: Hindu Newarharuko Mrityu Cetana (Martin Chautari: 2013).
